The small quaint village of Storms River is situated on the edge of the Tsitsikamma National Park and only a short distance to the East of Knysna and north of Plettenberg Bay. This little village offers a wide variety of accommodation for visitors wishing to enjoy the many activities available in the area.
Wander down the shady lanes of the village and stroll down the short main street which offers a variety of small shops to enjoy a pleasant browsing experience and see the display of vintage cars from 1959/1960’s (Elvis era). Also enjoy the lovely vistas of the Formosa Mountain which is part of the Tsitsikamma Mountain range.
The Village itself is a perfect place to plan and organize activities such as mountain biking, hiking, Tree Top (Canopy) Tours, Abseiling, Climbing, blackwater Tubing and Bungee jumping from the Blaukrans River Bridge which at 216 meters, claims to be the highest in the world.
While in the area don’t miss the Tree-Top Tour which consists of sliding from tree to tree on a steel cable suspended 30 meters above the forest floor. Stop at platforms along the way and take in the beautiful scenery.
“Storms River” is famous for the magnificent views at Storms River Mouth with its unbelievable suspension bridge that leads to a lookout point with awe inspiring vista over the lush forest areas and thrilling views of the waves of the Indian Ocean crashing over rocks.
Accommodation in Lodges, Inn’s and for backpackers as well as a good information center is available in the village.
