Travel along the Garden Route


For visitors to South Africa, travelling along the magnificent scenic Garden Route is an experience not to be missed.  This tourist paradise lies east of Cape Town and runs for approximately 200 km along the coast from Mossel Bay to the Storms River mouth.

The South African Garden route includes something for everybody, wonderful scenery abounds, charming villages along the way, adventure in the form of bungee jumps from the Bloukrans bridge presumed to be the world’s highest commercially managed bungee jump, unsurpassed special routes for hikers and mountain bikers There are also lookout points where whales can be watched from and bird watchers will not be disappointed by the magnificent species of the Cape.

Flanked on one side by the magnificent Outeniqua mountains and on the other by the beautiful blue of the Indian Ocean, the garden route includes the geological wonder of the Cango Caves, a series of enormous natural limestone Caverns. The caves are outside the charming town of Oudtshoorn which is the centre of the South African Ostrich farming industry.  A visit to an Ostrich farm is an exciting and fun experience.  With tours showing the products of today and the past which included a huge ostrich feather industry which had its glory days in the late 19th century and early 20th century. You might even get the chance to ride an ostrich.

Not to be missed is the magnificent Tsitsikamma National Park which is one of South Africa’s most spectacular protected areas and a sanctuary for South African birdlife .in this magnificent forest of giant indigenous trees and ferns, don’t forget to try the Tsitsikama Canopy tour where you will whiz from the top of one tree to the next.

There is accommodation to suit every pocket at the magnificent seaside resort towns as well as along the Garden route of the Cape such as Plettenberg Bay, the Wilderness and Knysna or other smaller and picturesque towns and villages where you can enjoy scuba diving fishing, and all sorts of water sports.
