1-kilo mutton or beef mince

    1 slice white bread

      1 cup milk

        2 onions chopped

          2 tablespoons curry powder

            1 tablespoon sugar

              2 tablespoons vegetable oil

                2 eggs

                  2 tablespoons lemon juice.

Salt and pepper according to taste

                      3 or 4 bay leaves

                        Chopped almonds

                          Instructions

                          • Soak the bread in half the milk and mash finely.
                          • Fry the chopped onions in the oil, and then add the mashed bread, curry powder, sugar, seasoning, lemon juice, and the minced meat to the onions.
                          • Mix all together with 1 beaten egg.
                          • Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes.
                          • Beat the second egg well with a pinch of salt and pepper and the rest of the milk.
                          • Pour this over the mince and place the bay leaves on top and the chopped almonds and bake for a further 30 minutes.
                          • Serve with rice.
